Hierarchy of Prices Locality - wise?

This seems a new concept, where you must pay a life-long price if you are situated in a posh locality. For example Eggs which are normally RS. 20-22/dozen elsewhere are sold at RS. 30/dozen in places like Korengaon Park or Kalyani Nagar. It is not possible to shop for everyday needs far away from residence, so one ends up paying higher prices each. Why this lack in equilibrium? Why aren't these retailers questioned for such hierarchy? Can they do just what they like? Talk about MRP which is more known as "Multiple Retail Pricing" rather than "Maximum Retail Price" You all must have read articles in newspaper and seen commercials on TV highlight the matter. PRINTED MRP on products differ location wise, let alone products like EGGS, RICE, DAL (Pulses) which don't carry MRP on them and can be called an any price by the different retailers.

When there is no longer control on PRINTED MRP, what can anyone say to these small locality retailers?
Are we consumers being taken for a ride? Are we losing the original concept of MRP which was made to protect us consumers from being over priced or cheated by different retailers? Please stop by and drop in your comments on the issues. It is high time we together put a stop to this hierarchy.
